Housing charges are based on unit size, and go toward the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings, as well as the mortgage. Housing charges are currently under market value, meaning comparable units in the area are typically priced higher. We currently do not offer any subsidies for units. Annual increases are voted upon by the members at a Special General Meeting in August, for implementation on October 1st, the beginning of our fiscal year.
Share purchases are required upon move-in, and vary depending on the unit size. Share purchases are returned, less any outstanding fees to the co-op, upon move out. These fees are professionally managed, and their earnings are used for the benefit of the co-op as determined by the Board.
